To see a world in a grain of sand

And a heaven in a wild flower

Hold infiniy in the palm of your hand

And eternity in an hour

The famous poem A Grain of Sand by william Blake is one of my favorite poems both in English and Chinese. Doctor Yang Zhenning(Sorry I don't know his English name.),the winner of the Nobel Prize for physics, once quoted it to show the relationship between physics and beauty. He believed that some of the most important equations discovered by Newton, Einstein, Dirac, Maxwell, and Heisenberg et al, which make up the basic structure of modern physics, can be considered the most beautiful poems of the Nature from the point of view of beauty.

In this poem, william Blake expressed the harmony and unity of the macro and micro world, infinity and finiteness in highly condensed words. It also reminds me of a famous Chinese short poem on zen of the Buddhism. As it's difficult to express the original meaning in English, let me cite here in Chinese:

    菩提本无树,明镜亦无台。本来无一物(一作:佛性常清净),何处惹尘埃。
